Jamie Roy has a passion for preserving and promoting fresh, clean and fair food, as well as educating herself about local food and sustainability issues. She first learned about the problems within our food system by reading Jonathan Safran Foer’s book Eating Animals. It left such an impression that she continued reading more on current and past food policies and decided to seek out a local group with similar interests. Since connecting with Slow Food RVa, she has enjoyed working with the passionate people behind the group and getting to know some of our local producers and farmers. Jamie has goals to be an effective advocate for safe and accessible food in the Richmond community.
