Terra Madre 2010 convenes this week in Turin, Italy
October 18th, 2010
Nine Virginians will join Slow Food’s international Terra Madre network of over 5,000 small-scale food producers and advocates gathering October 21-25th in Turin for the fourth biannual meeting, coinciding with the international Slow Food Fair Salone del Gusto.
The five-day meeting will bring together food communities, cooks, academics, youth and musicians from all over the world, who are united in a desire to promote sustainable local food production in harmony with the environment while respecting knowledge handed down over the generations.
Online Forums for some Terra Madre workshops are open and available to anyone who wants to join the global conversation. The Richmond Food Collective will also be participating, so check out their blog through the week!
